Caimari

Caimari

In the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains ,about forty minutes from Palma, lies the sleepy village of Caimari.

It is the centre of olive oil production in Mallorca and the surrounding countryside is home to some of the island's oldest olive trees, some are more than a thousand years old.

Caimari lies at the foot of Col de Sa Batalla, and allows brilliant access to the Tramuntana mountain range. Turning right at the top leads to Lluc; turning left is towards Sa Calobra or Puig Major and more.
