Mallorca cycling Coll d'Orient

Coll d'Orient from Alaró

From the town of Alaró you climb up and between the twin peaks of the impressive Puig's - Puig d’Alaro and the Puig de s’Alcadena and descend into the town of Orient.

The Climb

The road surface is excellent and the climb is gradual and scenic. Never gets too tough. 5.2km long with an average gradient of 5.1%. The morning sun is behind you and the views are excellent.

The Descent

Excellent road surface with a few hairpin bends that sweep you into the small village of Orient.

What to look out for

The descent in the cooler months can be left damp by the low sun, so a little care should be taken.

There are only 2 cafés in the small village of Orient. The one on the left has a large outdoor area and a decent selection of cakes. The one on the right seems to have realised the needs of cyclists and has widened their cake selection to go with their already impressive coffee.
